Word That Never Loses Meaning

You know how if you say a word a gazillion times in a row, it tends lose meaning? Well there is one word that seems to not, and that word is…”Awesome.”

Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, Awesome, yep, still Awesome.

And you know what comedy is awesome?

How I Met Your Mother on CBS:

And what is even more Awesome (happens to be on at the same time)? That’s right, Chuck:

2 More Episodes Left of Chuck this Season…

…so don’t miss any minute of it.

Last week in “Chuck Vs the First Kill”, Chuck teamed up with his ex-girlfriend and FULCRUM agent to get his father back, and ended up letting her “escape.” Afterwards, Beckett ends up shutting down the program all together, ordering for Chuck to go into hiding (basically a prison meant to keep him safe, and all those government secrets in his head. Sarah goes against protocol and takes Chuck away. Preview for the next new episode looks good…

'Chuck Vs. Dream Job' (Ep# 2.19) with guests Chevy Chase (left) and Scott Bakula (right), and series star Zachary Levi (middle). From NBC.Com

Episode 21: “Chuck Vs. the Colonel” Chuck and Sarah (on the lam) go rescue Chuck’s dad themselves. Plus, are we finally gonna have Chuck and Sarah get together? Guest Stars Scott Bakula as Chuck’s father, Steve, and Chevy Chase as Ted Roark.

Episode 22: “Chuck Vs the Ring” Ellie’s big day has arrived, but will Ted Roark ruin everything?

This is a wonderful show, and there are many fans out there, some of which have made some videos to help recap some classic Chuck scenes. ChuckTV.Net is a great little fan site, so check that out.

Here’s one video I think sums up Chuck very well, giving viewers 10 Reasons to watch this truly AWESOME show:

Oh, and outside all the government stuff, there’s some major changes over at the Buy More, as Morgan was “tricked” by Emmet when human resource was evaluating the manager (not Emmet as everyone was made to believe). The plan was to make Emmet look good so he’d be promoted away from the Buy More, instead, it made Big Mike look bad, promoting Emmet to manager. Now, Morgan is now a pariah. Then there’s the whole Ellie and Devon wedding going on as well.

Did I mention Chevy Chase and Scott Bakula?

And if you’ve missed any episodes, you can view full episodes at NBC.Com or Hulu.com, or buy from iTunes. Season One is available on DVD and Blu-Ray now.

On the Bubble: What You’re Missing on TV

TV.Com has posted an article on 10 shows at risk of cancellation. I could post them all, but I think I’ll just give the highlights of the ones I actually watch (Sorry, I had started this post earlier, and tried Tabbing and Backspace, don’t ever do that in WordPress, it sent me back and when I went forward everything I typed up was gone, so I need to save time)

So I’m really doing the top 4 (though Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles and My Name is Earl is in the list as well.

4: Castle (ABC) : Starring the wonderful and underrated actor Nathan Fillion, this show is actually better than I thought it would be. Airs Mondays 10PM, on ABC.
What you’re missing (Pilot promo):

3: Reaper (CW) : The only CW series on the list, this show has it all: humor, drama, action, and the Devil. What’s not to like? Airs Tuesday 8PM on the CW.
What you’re Missing: (Season 2 promo)

2: Dollhouse (FOX) : The highly buzzed series by the mind of Joss Whedon opened to poor ratings (though better than its lead-in, Terminator, and also enjoys great DVR numbers). Airs Fridays at 9PM on FOX.
What you’re missing (series promo):

1: Chuck (NBC) : Mondays have gotten a little harder for our little spy/Nerd Herd supervisor, as it is now up against FOX’s House and ABC’s Dancing with the Stars, and the CBS comedies, though it seems fairly consistent in ratings (I think that’s something NBC should consider), but given the whole Leno thing happening next year (5 nights a week at 10PM is taken), could our little beloved show fall victim of crowded programming? Airs Monday 8PM, on NBC.
What you’re missing: (promo for the next new episode, since it guests Chevy Chase, and shouldn’t be missed):

Full TV.com article: http://www.tv.com/story/13568.html for the other 7 shows (#10 was a tie).

And don’t miss new episodes of Castle (Monday 10 PM ABC), Reaper (Tuesday 8PM CW), Dollhouse (Friday 9PM FOX), and Chuck (Monday 8PM NBC).

Tonight on Heroes, Sylar Meets his Dad!!!

I’m posting this here and on my regular site, because John Glover (remember, he played Lex’s dad Lionel on Smallville) guest stars in tonight’s episode of NBC’s Heroes, at 9PM ET. I got to say, this season is definitely a major improvement from season 2. So, NBC is the place to be tonight, with all new Chuck, Heroes, and Medium.

Here’s a Official Press Release on Episode 3.19 of Heroes: Heroes ‘Shades of Gray’

Want Change? Move to 7PM

Warning: Explicit Language Used in Anger

Warning: Explicit Language Used in Anger

How annoying is it that programming gets fucked up by Presidential Addresses. I know they have something to say, blah blah, and it doesn’t seem to matter who it is. Here’s an idea, Instead of screwing with my Chuck, and it seems to be later this month as well, screwing Bones up even more, why not just fuck syndication and come on at 7PM. Would it be so bad?

More on the screw-ups: the futon critic

It’s bad enough FOX likes doing shit because they can (I Hate American Idol, and wish people will wake up and stop watching it).

The Best Shows You’re Not Watching

Sure, it’s an opinion, but I love watching TV, so I think I know what is good when I see it.  After just coming back from thefutoncritic.com and seeing Monday’s ratings, I have to say, though I’m glad that CBS’s How I Met Your Mother is getting the ratings it deserves (it was #3 for the night in Adults 18-49!!!), I’m sadden by the fact that NBC’s Chuck is not.  Actually, the 8PM timeslot is a tough spot now.  FOX’s Sarah Connor Chronicles airs at that time as well, and it is a pretty darn good show as well (rumors out there say it’s on the brink of cancellation, not surprising, since FOX can’t keep a sci-fi show).

Anyway, back to Chuck.  With it’s outstanding mixture of action/adventure and comedy, Chuck currently stands out.  There really isn’t a show out there, right now, like it.  It follows a guy named Chuck, who works a retail store called Buy More (think Best Buy), part of the Nerd Herd (again, think Best Buy’s Geek Squad).  His friend is Morgan, short little bearded guy who has a crush on Chuck’s sister, who’s currently engaged to whom they refer to as Captain Awesome (his name is Devon, but seriously, the dude is awesome).  What makes Chuck different, well, he has government secrets stashed in his head after an old buddy (now nemesis), Bryce, sent him an email.  Now, he’s an asset, being protected by CIA agent Sarah and NSA agent John Casey.  He’s just a dude who works for an electronics store that finds himself on secret spy missions (usually in the needing to be saved part of it).   Chuck airs Monday nights on NBC at 8PM ET.  Watch episodes online now from NBC.com.

And of course, the best show on TV continues to be the CW’s Supernatural on Thursday nights at 9PM, against the competition of ABC’s Grey’s Anatomy and CBS’s CSI (which comes back this week!!, yeah, oh wait, sorry, I like CSI too, but that’s why we have DVRs).  Oh, maybe that’s what I’ll talk about next, DVRs….LATER
