Halloween Tradition: Treehouse of Horror
The Simpsons is an American TV classic. True, one can argue the later seasons aren’t on par with it’s earliest, but it continues to be a staple for FOX’s Sunday lineup for a reason: It simply works.
And with Halloween over with, you can expect the annual Treehouse of Horror to lighten up your dreary Sunday. Let’s take the time to remember the good Halloween specials:
‘The Raven’ parody was part of the first Treehouse of Horror that aired in the 2nd season. Probably the most memorable, it was also, in my opinion, one of the best. What better way to celebrate Halloween than to parody Edgar Allen Poe’s ‘The Raven’.
‘The Shining’ (sorry ‘The Shinning’), part of the fifth special (6th season), another memorable, and as well as one of the best segments, the parody for Stephen King’s ‘The Shining.’
And the third one was really a technical marvel, the 7th season’s Treehouse of Horror featured CG Homer in the real world.
Tonight, based on the commercials, will feature three more segments, Transformers movie, Mad Men, and Halloween classic It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown. Also, it’s election season, so a little spoof of that in the mix
